About the Practice

Our History

Close Farm Surgery was formed in the 1960’s by the late Dr Johns working out of a house in Bitton.  As more doctors joined, the surgery then moved to Cloverlea Road, North Common.  As the practice expanded further, the partners looked for a suitable property within the village where we could continue to serve our patients locally.  We found our current home of 47 Victoria Road, North Common (a converted farmhouse) and moved here in 1992.  By 2008 we had soon outgrown our new surgery and an extension was added providing further consulting rooms, a bigger waiting room and administrative space.   This year, we have undergone additional building work to convert our medical records room into admin rooms.

Although many of our patients walk to our surgery, we do have a small car park at the rear and disabled parking and a bike shed at the front.  There is also parking on the main and side roads surrounding the surgery.  We are very close to the Bristol to Bath cycle track.
